Abstract
IV A CHEMOTAXONOMICAL STUDY ON THE SOME CYNOGLOSSUM L. SPECIES ABSTRACT This study, 4 species were collected which were belonged to the genus Cynoglossum L. in Black Sea region in 1993 to carry out a chemotaxonomical study. The specimens collected were sorted into four different groups according to their morphological apperances and anatomic characters. In each group 19 distinctive morphological characters were determined and studied; As results, there are species, consisted of C. creticum Miller, C. montanum L., C officinale L. and C. glochidiatum Wallich. With paper chromatography method, flavonoid phenolic compounds in the leaf and the fruit extracs of the specimens from these four species were analyzed. As the results of chromatography method, R/' values of the spots that were obtained with the sample extracts, were determined and compared. It was determined that flavonoids were important characters for the identification of the species and a classification of these species were made. It was found out that there were the common flavonoids in four species as well as the different flavonoids. The samples that having the same common spots can be put into the same species and the samples that having different spots can be grouped into different species. Also it was determined that C. glochidiatum which was cultured and was not related to the other Cynoglossum L. species found in Turkey had the common spots as the others.
