Dil Öğretim Yaklaşımlarının İletişimci Aktiviteleri Doğrultusunda Kelime Öğretimi

Abstract

xxxiiiÖZETBu çalışmada dil yaklaşımları doğrultusunda iletişimsel teknik ve aktivitelerinkelime öğreniminde hazırlık sınıfı öğrencilerine etkililiği araştırıldı. Araştırma içiniki farklı okuldan iki deneysel, iki kontrol grubu seçildi. Deney grubu iletişimciteknikler ve aktiviteler doğrultusunda kelime öğrenirken, kontrol grubu kelimelerigeleneksel yöntemlerle öğrendi.Her iki gruptaki öğrencilere kelime bilgilerini ve kelimeyi kullanmayeteneklerini ölçmek amacıyla kısa testler verildi.Bu testslerden elde edilen verileristatistiksel analiz programı olan. SPSS ile analiz edildi.Öğrencilerin, kelimeyi iletişimde kullanma, kelimeyi bağlam içindetanıyabilme, kelimeleri uzun süreli hafızalarına alabilmedeki başarıları ölçüldü vekarşılaştırıldı.İki okulda yapılan istatistiksel karşılaştırma sonuçları da gösterdi kiiletişimci teknik ve aktiviteler doğrultusunda kelime öğrenen öğrenciler kelimeyiöğrenme, uzun süreli hafızaya alma ve iletişim için kullanabilmede daha başarılı.Ayrıca grupların genel başarısında da anlamlı farklar bulundu.Bu bulgulara dayanarak, iletişimci teknikler ve aktivitelerin geleneksel kelimeöğretim yöntemlerine kıyasla daha etkili olduğu söylenebilir.

xxxivABSTRACTIn this study the effectiveness of communicative techniques and activitiesthrough language teaching approaches in teaching vocabulary to prep class studentshave been investigated. Two experimental groups, two control groups have beenchosen from two different schools. The control group has learned the words throughtraditional ways, where as the experimental group has learned the words throughcommunicative techniques and activities.The students in both groups have been given word quizzes to test theirvocabulary knowledge, and the ability to use the words. The data obtained fromthese tests have been analyzed through a statistical Analysis program, Chi-squaretests.The students? success in using the words in communication, recognizing thewords in context and storing the words in their long term memories have beenassessed and compared. The results of statistics in two schools have revealed that thestudents who have been taught words through communicative activities andtechniques have been more successful in learning the word, storing the word in theirlong term memories and using the word in communication. Also significantdifferences have been found in their overall success.Based on these findings, communicative teaching and activities throughlanguage teaching approaches can to be said be more effective in teachingvocabulary than traditional vocabulary teaching ways.
