Abstract
Muhammed'i (s.a.s) insanlara yol gösterici ve rehber olmak üzere göndermiştir.
The Holy Qur?an and the other holy books were sent down to the human beings as guidance of the right way. The concept of invitation goes back to the beginning of human history. It is necessary to know the life stories of the prophets in order to understand human history since the Prophet Adam and the invitation of the divine message. Allah sent down the Holy Qur?an and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as guidance and consultant. The subject matter of invitation has not lost its originality ever since; and human beings have even needed more invitation and more qualitative persons who can carry out religious invitation.During the study of the term ?invitation? in the Holy Qur?an, our touchstones were specifically these verses: ?(O Community of Muhammad!) You are the best community ever brought forth for humankind, enjoying and promoting what is right and good and forbidding and trying to prevent the evil??, ?There must be among you a community calling to good ??, and ?Call to the way of Your Lord with wisdom and fair exhortation?? In our study, going back to the roots of the term ?invitation?, we tried to determine how this term was understood and practised since first human being and prophet Adam (peace be upon him) and how was its relationship with the other concepts. After being examined the method of invitation mentioned in the Qur?an, and the characteristic features of the people who carried out the duty of invitation , it has been emphasized the basic means which are used in the invitation process. At the end of the study, it has been seen that the terms or concepts are very significant in the formation of the cumulative knowledge for the Qur?anic and Islamic sciences. In this context, it has finally been ascertained that all interpreters of the Qur?an agree that the subject matter of invitation is a religious duty which cannot be neglected at all.Key Terms : Qur?an , Prophet, Invitation, Community , Concept.
