Müzik Öğretmenlerinin İş Doyumları ve Benlik Saygılarının Farklı Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

Müzik öğretmenlerinin iş doyumu ve benlik saygısı düzeylerinin farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi tezin ana amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda müzik öğretmenlerinin iş doyum ve benlik saygısı düzeylerinin cinsiyet, hizmet yılı, medeni durum, çalıştığı kurum, haftalık çalgı çalışma süresi, ekonomik durumlarını algılama, öğrenim durumu değişkenlerine göre değişip değişmediği belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri Batı Karadeniz Bölgesindeki Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı resmi okulların farklı kademelerinde çalışan 125 müzik öğretmeni ile yapılan anketlerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak 7 sorudan oluşan 'Kişisel Bilgi Formu', 20 sorudan oluşan 'Minnesota İş Doyum Ölçeği' ve 10 sorudan oluşan 'Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği' kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS paket programından yararlanılmıştır. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgularda müzik öğretmenlerinin iş doyumu düzeylerinin genelde olumlu olduğu ancak bunun üst düzeyde olmadığı saptanmıştır. Müzik öğretmenlerinin benlik saygısı düzeyleri ise 'orta' düzeyde bulunmuştur. Başka bir deyişle, araştırmaya katılan müzik öğretmenlerinin benlik saygısına ilişkin algı düzeyleri çok yüksek olmasa da olumlu düzeyde bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin, iş doyumu düzeylerinin demografik özelliklerine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğine bakıldığında; öğretmenlerin cinsiyeti, çalışılan kurumu, çalgı çalmaya ayrılan süre, ekonomik düzeyleri ve eğitim durumları, hem genel hem de içsel ve dışsal doyumlarında anlamlı farklılaşmaya neden olurken, medeni durum değişkeni içsel ve genel iş doyumunda anlamlı farklılaşmaya neden olmaktadır. Ancak öğretmenlerin mesleki kıdemi iş doyumu düzeyi üzerinde etkili bulunmamıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin, benlik saygısı düzeylerinin demografik özelliklerine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğine bakıldığında; öğretmenlerin cinsiyeti, mesleki kıdemi, çalgı çalmaya ayrılan süre ve eğitim durumları benlik saygısı düzeylerinde/puanlarında anlamlı farklılaşmaya neden olurken, medeni durum, çalışılan kurum ve ekonomik durum algısı değişkenleri benlik saygısı düzeylerinde anlamlı farklılaşmaya neden olmamaktadır. Bunların yanında öğretmenlerin iş doyumları ile benlik saygısı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiye bakıldığında, içsel doyum düzeyleri arttıkça benlik saygısı düzeylerinin de yükseldiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study aims to examine the level of job satisfaction and self esteem of music teachers in terms of different variables. For this aim, it has been determined whether it differentiates or not, in terms of the variables; gender, age, year of service, marital status,institution she/he is working at, weekly practising of his/her instrument, perception of economic status and education status. The data of the study were obtained via the questionnaries conducted with 125 music teachers woorking at different levels of official and private ministerial schools (of National Education Ministery) in the Western Black Sea Region. In the study, a personal information form including 7 questions, Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale including 20 questions and Rossenberg Self Esteem Scale were used as data collection tools. SPSS package program was used to process the obtained data. In this study, it is understood that the job satisfaction level of music teachers were generally positive, but it isn't at top level. It is also found out that the self esteem of music teachers is at middle level. In other words, the self esteem of the teachers who participate in this study is not at top level, but it is at a positive level. It is seen that the job satisfaction level of music teachers who participate in this study, differentiate meaningfully according to their gender, institution she/he is working at, practicing time of his/her instrument, perception of economic status and education status both in their general, internal and external satisfaction. It is also seen that the variabla of marital status differentiates meaningfully in terms of internal and external job satisfaction of teachers. On the other hand, it is found out that year of service doesn't have an influence on the level of job satisfaction. According to the research results, self esteem level of the teachers in this study differentiate meaningfully according to their gender, year of service, practising time of the instrument and education status. On the other hand, it is seen that the self esteem level of teachers doesn't differentiate meaningfully according to their marital status, the institution at which he/she working at and economic status. Finally, the research results show that the more the internal satisfaction level of teachers increase, the more their level of self esteem rises.
