Abstract

Granulomas have been defined as focal accumulation of inflammatory cells, including cells of the mononuclear phagocyte system. Granulomas are commonly found in the liver and the lungs. The incidence of hepatic granulomas varies according to geography and patient population. There are many causes of hepatic granulomas. They can be classified in to four catogories: systemic diseases, intracellüler infections agents, chemically induced injury and certain liver disorders. Sarcoidosis is a main cause hepatic granulomas, according for 12% to 30% of the cases. Treatment of patients with hepatic granulomas is dependent on the assigned etiology.
