Abstract
The experiment was carried out to study, the effect of adding different levels of flaxseed oil on broilers live weight, feed consumption, feed efficiency ratio, carcass, edible inner organs, some bloods and organoleptic meat parameters. The experiment was carried out for 42 days, 360 broilers (Ross 308) were allocated randomly to three treatments consisted of six replicated (for each repetition; at the beginning twenty broilers, at the finishing ten broilers). All chicks were fed ad libitum with mash form. Feed consumption and live weight gain were detected on 21st and 42nd days. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. There were no differences between treatments for live weight, live weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency ratio, carcass weight and carcass yield (P>0.05). And also edible internal organs like heart, liver and gizzard are similar to all treatments (P>0.05). In spite of that K6 group (6 % flaxseed oil added group) was reduced abdominal fat pad compared to others (P<0.05). The blood cholesterol, HDL and LDL level decreased by supplementing the flaxseed oils (P<0.05) but had no effect on glucose, trigliserit and VLDL level. In terms of organoleptic quality criteria like color, smell, crumbliness and flavor are showed worse values in K6 group?s breast and thigh meat than from the other groups. There was no significant differences breast and thigh meat?s crude ash and protein but crude fat content increased by supplementing the flaxseed oils.Key Words: broiler, flaxseed oil, performance
