Abstract
Novel metal phthalocyanine (Cu, Zn, Co, Ni) polymers containing resorcinarene moieties were prepared; the resorcinarene was obtained by the acid-catalysed cyclocondensation of resorcinol and acetaldehyde under microwave irradiation. The resorcinarene phthalonitrile compounds were then synthesized by treating resorcinarene with 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dicyanobenzene and 4-nitro-1,2-dicyanobenzene under microwave irradiation, respectively. Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) chlorides were employed in order to synthesize the corresponding metal phthalocyanine polymers and Zn(CH<inf>3</inf>CO<inf>2</inf>) was used to prepare zinc phthalocyanine polymers. Structures were characterized by elemental analyses, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV-vis and FTIR spectroscopy. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
