Abstract
ÖZET BASKETBOL VE VOLEYBOLCULARDA DELTOĠD KAS KANTĠTATĠF EMG AKTĠVASYONUNUN ĠZOKĠNETĠK KUVVETE ETKĠSĠ Amaç: Basketbol ve voleybolcularda tekrarlı omuz elevasyonu sonrası aksiller sinir tuzaklanmasını kantitatif EMG ile analiz etmek ve buna bağlı olarak deltoid kasta oluşabilecek kuvvet kaybını izokinetik dinamometre ile ortaya koymaktır. Materyal ve Metot: 35 sporcu ve 35 sedanter çalışmaya dahil edildi. ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF DELTOID MUSCLE QUANTITATIVE EMG ACTIVATION ON ISOKINETIC STRENGTH IN BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS Aim: In basketball and volleyball players, after repeated shoulder elevations, axillary nerve trap are analyzed with quantitative EMG and accordingly to determine the loss of strength in the deltoid muscle with isokinetic dynamometer. Material and Method: 35 athletes and 35 sedentary were included in the study. Quantitative EMG analysis of deltoid and rhomboid muscles and bilateral motor nerve transmission to axillary were performed . Muscle strength was evaluated with isokinetic dynamometer. Results: Three of the volleyball players (8.6%) and seven of the basketball players (20%) were neuropathies. Neurogenic involvement findings were obtained in the rhomboid and deltoid muscles, which were examined in 7 of the athletes (2 of which were volleyball, 5 of which were basketball). In 6 of these athletes, there was a slight chronic partial axonal lesion of the C5 root and a slight subacute partial axonal lesion of the C5 root in one athlete. Chronic partial axonal lesion of the dorsal scapular nerve in two athletes were found. However, neither basketball players nor volleyball players were found to have axillary nerve lesions. The relationship between isokinetic variables and quantitative variables of neuropathic athletes was not significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: We have shown that in the sports where repetitive activities are performed, the axillary and median nerves as well as the scapuladorsal nerve can be trapped and root pressure may be present. Determination of replaceable risk factors, prevention of overuse injuries and other shoulder problems, will help athletes and trainers organize training programs. Our research will shed light on future studies as it is the first study where the deltoid muscle activation of basketball and volleyball players is investigated with quantitative EMG. Key words: Axillary nerve; Basketball; İsokinetic strength; Quantitative emg; Volleyball
