Meşrutiyetten Cumhuriyete Bir Osmanlı Aydını: Mevlanzade Rıfat

Abstract

Mevlanzâde Rıfat, hayatı sürgünlerle geçen, ancak hiçbir zaman makale ve kitap yazmaktan, gazete ve dergi çıkarmaktan vazgeçmeyen bir kişiliktir. Yaşadığı döneme, dönemin politik ve sosyal olaylarına duyarsız kalmamış, kendi düşünceleri doğrultusunda kitleleri etkilemeye çalışmıştır. İzlediği muhalefetten hoşlanmayan siyasi iktidarlar tarafından gazeteleri kapatılmış, hakkında davalar açılmış, sürgünlere gönderilmiştir. Ancak kapanan her gazetenin arkasından yeni bir gazete açarak muhalefet yapmaya devam etmiştir. Beklentilerine ve düşüncelerine uymayan, izledikleri yönetim politikalarını beğenmediği yöneticilere sert muhalefet yapmaktan çekinmemiştir. Siyasi parti ve derneklerde kurucu olduğu, üye olarak katıldığı, düşüncelerini bu ortamlarda da açıkça dile getirdiği görülmektedir. Siyasetin dışında, kadın hakları konusunda da çağından daha önde giden düşünceler ortaya koymuş, kadın kimliğini desteklemek üzere çalışmalar yapmıştır. Son dönemde tek sayı olarak çıkardığı Erkekler Dünyası dergisinde de kadın sorununa erkek gözüyle bakılmasını sağlayacak bir pencere açmıştır. Önemli bir döneme damgasını vurmuş gazeteci ve siyaset adamı Mevlanzâde Rıfat ile ilgili literatürde çok az sayıda araştırma yapıldığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın literatürdeki boşluğu bir nebze giderebileceği ve bu anlamda önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. He tried to attract the people around his thought. Because of his opposition, the goverment stoped the newspaper publishing and send him out of country. But he went on publishing newspapers despite all those difficulties to be opponent. He never stoped to be opponent to the leaders who didn't agree with his opinions and expectations and type of governing the country. We can see that he was the member of political parties, associations and there he frankly said all his opinions. Beside political life of him, he supported the women rights and put his thoughts about there subjects. He made the men to put themselves in the shoes of women with the magazine he published by the name of men's world. About Mevlanzade Rıfat, who was a very important politician and reporter, there is not more investigation.
