Publication: Hemşirelerin Mesleki Profesyonel Tutumlarının ve Meslektaş Dayanışması Düzeylerinin Tükenmişlik Üzerine Etkisinin İncelenmesi
Abstract
Aim: The aim of this research is; The aim of this study is to examine the effects of nurses' professional attitudes and colleague solidarity levels on burnout. Material and Method: The population of the study consisted of 1703 nurses working in hospitals permitted by Samsun Provincial Health Directorate (Samsun Health Sciences University Training and Research Hospital, Samsun Gazi State Hospital, Samsun Çarşamba State Hospital, Samsun Terme State Hospital). The sample of the study consisted of 390 nurses who met the inclusion criteria of the study. Data were collected using 'Personal Data Collection Form', 'Nurses Colleague Solidarity Scale', 'Professional Attitude Inventory in Occupation' and 'Capri Burnout Scale'. Data were analyzed with SPSS V23. The normal distribution was examined by Kolmogorov Smirnov. The relationship between scale scores was examined by Pearson Correlation analysis. Reliability analysis for the scales was examined with the Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was used to examine the effect of demographic characteristics on scale scores, and the Backward method was used to include independent variables in the model. Analysis results are given as mean ± standard deviation and median for quantitative data, and categorical data are given as frequency and percentage. The level of significance was taken as p<0.05. Results: Participants' 'Nurses Colleague Solidarity Scale' mean score was 95.34±9.24; the mean score of 'Professional Attitude Inventory in Occupation' was 135.66±13.65 and the mean score of 'Capri Burnout Scale' was 4.20±0.76. 62.3% of the participants were female, the mean age was 32.08 ± 6.91, the average of professional experience years was 9.55 ± 7.2, 67.9% of them were undergraduate graduates, 79.2% of them chose their profession willingly. It was concluded that the variables of negative thinking about the profession and feeling of professional burnout were effective variables on the total scores of the whole scale (p<0.05). A high statistically significant positive correlation was found between the score of the 'Nurses Colleague Solidarity Scale' and the total score of the 'Professional Attitude Inventory in the Occupation'. A statistically significant and negative correlation was found between the total score of the 'Capri Burnout Scale' and the total score of the 'Professional Attitude Inventory in Occupation' (p<0.001). Conclusion: In this study, as colleague solidarity in nurses increased, professional attitude in the profession also increased; It was determined that as the level of burnout increased, professional attitude decreased. Keywords: Nursing; Colleague Solidarity; Professional Attitude in the Occupation; Burnout
