Tetra­carbonyl{2-[1-(2,6-Di­methyl­phenyl­imino)­ethyl]­Pyridine-κ2N,N′}Molybdenum(0)

Abstract

The structural properties of [Mo(C<inf>15</inf>H<inf>16</inf>N <inf>2</inf>)(CO)<inf>4</inf>] was investigated using x-ray analysis method. The compound was prepared through a one-pot reaction of Mo(CO)<inf>6</inf> with 2-acetylpyridine and 2,6-dimethylaniline in ethanol. It was found that the complex showed a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The difference between first Mo-N bond distance and second Mo-N bond distance was found to be negative.
