Abstract
The synthesis and characterisation of o,o′-dihydroxyazo dyes and their chromium complexes is described by IR, UV-VIS, 1H NMR spectroscopic techniques, magnetic susceptibility, thin-layer chromatography and elemental analysis. The synthesized dyes and complexes were applied on wool and nylon fabric. Fastness to light, washing, and rubbing of the dyed fabrics were measured and discussed. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
