Publication: Koro Şeflerinin Isınma Süreçlerindeki Beden ve Hareket Kullanımına İlişkin Yaklaşımları
Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the choir conductors' approaches to the use of bodies in their rehearsals, to learn the studies and methods used by the choir conductors in the warm-up processes according to the rehearsal variables, to contribute to the choir field and to create a guide. Choral conductors are in search of suitable warm-ups for their choirs, as well as following the approaches that have existed for years in order to exhibit a healthier, fit, smooth and musical attitude and to achieve a good performance in rehearsals for their choirs. For this purpose, semi-structured interview technique was used to determine the body and movement use of seven well-known expert choral conductors from Turkey during the rehearsal processes. On the other hand, international data on the subject were obtained through literature review. The fact that the international literature has included similar research on approaches to body and movement in the choral warm-up processes suggests the importance of research. This study is important in that it is the first Turkish research that addresses the body warm-up and movement in choir and includes the opinions in detail of choral conductors in Turkey. As a result of the research, it was determined that the use of body in the choral warm-up process was considered necessary by the conductors participating in the research, but the situation changed and depending on the conductor's preference and the availability of the choir.
