Abstract

In this study, compatibility relationships of Tombul and Palaz cultivars between themselves and each other and cross incompatibility amongst Sivri, Qakildak, Kalinkara, Yerlifindik, Hammfindiǧi cultivars were investigated. From cvs. Palaz, Hammfindiǧi and Kalinkara for cv. Tombul (main cultivar), cvs. Yerlifindik, Kalinkara, Çakildak for cv. Palaz (main cultivar), a higher compatibility were observed than the other pollinizer cultivars. The self-incompatibility of cv. Palaz and partial self-compatibility of cv. Tombul were also observed. Mostly in cross combinations, pollen tube growth was completed in 10 to 20 days after pollination. When the mean number of pollen tubes, which reached section C of the style, and style percentage with pollen tubes were observed and a low compatibility was generally determined for crossed cultivars.
