The Historical Tombstones in the Graveyard of Kurdahmetli Village in Çarşamba

Abstract

Kurdahmetli village is about 5 km. far from Carsamba. There is a hazire around which was surrounded with the concrete wall in the graveyard in willage. There are thirteen graves which have historical importance. The inscriptions on them show that these graves have close relation with the graves in the hazire of Rahtvan Mosque in Carsamba. These gravestones, aproximately all of them belong to the nineteeth century, show the specialities of their periods with regard to the composition and ornamentation.
