Samsun İlinde Görev Yapan Aile Hekimlerinin Anne Sütü ve Emzirme Hakkında Bilgi ve Uygulamaları

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Samsun'daki aile hekimlerinin anne sütü ve emzirme hakkında bilgi düzeylerini ve uygulamalarını değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışma Samsun ilinde görev yapan aile hekimleri üzerinde yapılmıştır. Kesitsel, tanımlayıcı açık kontrolsüz tipte bir anket çalışmasıdır. Çalışmaya 204 aile hekimi katılmıştır. Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından 25 soruluk bilgi ve 14 soruluk uygulama anketi oluşturulmuştur. Anket formu hekimlere yüz yüze ya da internet üzerinden iletilerek uygulanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 25.0 ile değerlendirilmiştir. p<0,05 istatiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan hekimlerin yaşları ve hekimlik yaptıkları süre ile bilgi anket puanları arasında negatif yönlü, uygulama anket puanları arasında pozitif yönlü istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Hekimlerin bilgi puanları ile uygulama puanları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmamıştır. Uygulama anketinden elde edilen puanlar ile kadın cinsiyet ve tıp fakültesi sırasında eğitim alma değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların bilgi ve uygulama anketlerinden aldıkları puanlar ile medeni durum, çocuk sahibi olma, unvan ve mezuniyet sonrası eğitim alma değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmamıştır. Katılımcıların %82,8'i 'Anne sütü sterildir', %49,5'i 'HIV'li annelerde emzirme kontrendikedir' ve %38,2'si 'Hepatit C'li annelerde emzirme kontrendikedir' sorusuna yanlış yanıt vermiştir. Sonuç: Çalışmamıza katılan aile hekimlerinin bilgi puan ortalamalarına bakıldığında soruların yaklaşık %80'ine doğru yanıt vermişlerdir. Aile hekimlerinin yaşları ve meslekte geçirdikleri yıllar arttıkça bilgi puanlarının azaldığı saptanmıştır. Kadın cinsiyete sahip olanların ve tıp fakültesi sırasında eğitim alanların uygulama puanları daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Emzirmenin kontrendikasyonları konusunun hekimler tarafından yeterince bilinmediği belirlenmiştir.

Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the level of knowledge and practices of family physicians in Samsun about breast milk and breastfeeding. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was conducted on family physicians working in Samsun. It is a cross-sectional, descriptive, open uncontrolled type survey study. 204 family physicians participated in the study. In the study, a 25-question information and 14-question application questionnaire was created by the researcher. The questionnaire was administered to the physicians face-to-face or via the internet. Data were evaluated with SPSS 25.0. p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The ages of the physicians and the time they worked as a physician between knowledge questionnaire scores were negative correlation and the practice questionnaire scores were positive correlation. There was no relationship between the knowledge scores of physicians and their practice scores. A significant relationship was between practice questionnaire scores with female gender and educated during medical school. There was no relationship between the scores from the knowledge and practice questionnaires with the variables of marital status, having a child, title and postgraduate education. 82,8% of the participants gave wrong answer question of 'Breast milk is sterile', 49,5% gave 'Breastfeeding is contraindicated in mothers with HIV' and 38,2% gave 'Breastfeeding is contraindicated in mothers with hepatitis C'. Conclusions: Considering the knowledge score averages of the family physicians participating in our study, they gave correct answers to approximately 80% of the questions. It has been determined that the knowledge scores of family physicians decrease as their age and the years they spend in the profession increase. The practice questionnaire scores of those who had female gender and those who were educated during medical school were found to be higher. It has been determined that the subject of contraindications to breastfeeding is not sufficiently known by the physicians.
