Publication: Histoloji ve Embriyoloji Eğitiminde Medikal İllüstrasyon Kullanımına Üç Boyutlu Modelleme Tekniğinin Katkısı ve Bir Uygulama Önerisi
Abstract
In many fields of medicine, students are currently continuing to learn the profession from their more senior colleagues with an education approach based on the master-apprentice relationship. However, the insufficient number of educators cannot allow each student the necessary time to have an adequate education. Therefore, students apply the self-learning method even unconsciously. At this point, they acquire the most significant support from visual materials. 3D modeling, which is an illustration technique that is thought to increase understanding and contribute to the self-learning, is proposed in the thesis. Animations and AR / VR technologies, considered to be more effective than 3D models, are complete as educational materials. The reason why these are not recommended as a suggestion in this thesis is that the education materials that are still used most and effectively in education are textbooks. Suitability for printing was chosen as one of the basic criteria. In this thesis, epithelial tissue, which is a highly specialized tissue type that forms the lining of the inner and outer surfaces of the human body, was selected to create a model. In the epithelial tissue, especially the glandular epithelium, epidermis and all cell types that make up the tissue have been selected. It has been observed that there are deficiencies in the literature in this field, and therefore, a model has been created on this subject. It is suggested that a self-study tool on this complex topic in the medicine curriculum will contribute to the efficient learning of the student.
