Abstract

Radioiodine therapy has been an accepted treatment modality of the benign and malignant thyroid disorders. It can be used for the ablation of the hyperfunctioning tissue or postthyroidectomy remnant and treatment of the iodine avid metastases. It is the simplest and safest method of therapy in addition to the effectiveness for most patients. © 2012 OMU.
