Abstract

The use of biometric recognition system that use the humans' specific characteristics electronically is increasing every day. Iris recognition system is a very effective and popular biometric recognition system. The system performance changes depend on the number of bits used in coding and the noise level. Therefore, in this study, the impact of the coding and noise on iris recognition system performance is examined. The optimal number of bits in coding stage is determined using a MATLAB simulator and 14 different eye images. Also, system performance was tested for different noise levels, and resolved at the highest noise level which system can work properly. © 2016 IEEE.
