Abstract

In this article, it is dealt with the "phenomenon of 10/40 window" which was coined and propounded by missionary strategist Luis Bush in 1989. The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area extends from West Africa to East Asia, from 10 degrees north to 40 degrees north of the equator. Several important considerations make the region very important for Christian mission. For example it has historical and biblical significance, it contains three of the world's dominant religious blocs: Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, and it is the home of the world's least evangelized countries and megacities. Therefore 10/40 window is considered as a battlefield for christian missionaries. It is expected that this study can contribute to readers and researchers for a better understanding of contemporary christian mission, who is interested in Christianity in general and christian mission in particular.
