Publication: Adölesanlarda Siberkondri Düzeyi ile E-Sağlık Okuryazarlığı ve Sağlığı Geliştirme Davranışları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi
Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between adolescents' cyberchondria level and e-Health literacy and health promotion behaviors. Material Method: This study is a descriptive research looking for a relationship. The population of the research consists of students studying in public high schools in Çorum city center. The sample of the research was determined as 542 people using the g power method. It was completed between September and December 2022 with the participation of 800 students studying in public high schools in Çorum city center. Personal Information Form, Cyberchondria Severity Scale Short Form, Adolescent e-Health Literacy Scale, Adolescent Health Promotion Scale were used as data collection tools. Data were collected by face-to-face group survey method. In the analysis of data; Mean, standard deviation, number, percentage Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, t-test and ANOVA test were used. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. Necessary ethics committee and institutional permissions were obtained to conduct the study. Results: In the study, the mean Cyberchondria score of the adolescents was 25.98±6.80 and was found to be low, the mean e-Health literacy score was 25.76±6.33 and was found to be medium, and the mean score of the Adolescent Health Promotion Scale was 129.79±22.84 and was found to be medium. A statistically significant relationship was found between adolescents' daily internet usage time, doing health-related research on the internet and finding it useful, and their cyberchondria, e-health literacy and health promotion behaviors (p<0.05). It was found that there was a weak positive relationship between the adolescents' Cyberchondria level and the e-Health Literacy and Health Promotion Scale score average (p<0.01). It was found that there was a moderate positive relationship between the adolescents' e-Health Literacy mean score and the Health Promotion Scale mean score (p<0.01). Result: Adolescents' internet use; It appears that cyberchondria affects e-health literacy and health promotion behavior characteristics. As the cyberchondria level of adolescents increased, their e-Health literacy level and health promotion behavior levels also increased. At the same time, adolescents with high e-Health literacy levels also have high health promotion behaviors.
