An Ontological Analysis of a ‘Koşma’ of Bayburtlu Zihni

Abstract

The analysis methods plays an important role in finding out the art value of literature texts. Within this context, applying different analysis methods to folk literature texts indicates the literary value of texts. In this study firstly, an attention is given to the process of studying texts of folk literature. Secondly, an information is provided on ontological aesthetic which evaluates the existence as ontic and ontological analysis method that examines a text on the basis of existence's layers. Finally, ontological analysis method has been applied to one of Bayburtlu Zihnî's poems and its layers such (a.s.) utterance, meaning, object and fate. In conclusion, if various analysis methods are applied to the folk literature texts, it is seen that in general the art value and the level of the poems can be evaluated and in private this poem has aesthetic value from the aspect of form and content.
