In the title compound, [Ba(C<inf>8</inf>H<inf>5</inf>O<inf>3</inf>) <inf>2</inf>(H<inf>2</inf>O)<inf>2</inf>]<inf>n</inf>, the BaII atom (site symmetry 2) is eight-coordinated by two bidentate 2-formylbenzoate ligands, two monodentate formylbenzoate ligands and two terminal water molecules. The bridging ligands result in a one-dimensional coordination polymer. A network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds links the polymeric chains. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.en_US
