3-(4-Hydroxyanilino)isobenzofuran-1 (3H)-One

Abstract

The title compound, C<inf>14</inf>H<inf>11</inf>NO<inf>3</inf>, is stabilized by intermolecular O - H⋯O, N - H⋯O and C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and by three C - H⋯π intermolecular interactions. The N - H⋯O and O - H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate edge-fused R <inf>4</inf>4(26) rings. The phthalide ring system of the molecule is almost planar and forms a dihedral angle of 63.02 (7)° with the second benzene ring. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography. All rights reserved.
