Abstract

The molecular structure of the 2-(Benzothiazol-2-yliminomethyl)-6- methoxyphenol was analyzed. The molecule has an approximately planar structure except for O2, C5 and C2, which deviate from the mean plane of the molecule by 0.187(3), -0.177 (2) and 0.1634 (18) Å, respectively. The molecule crystallizes with the C7-benzothiazole group and the C9-methoxyphenol group on opposite sides of the C8 double bonded with N2. Dipole-dipole and van der Waals interactions are also effective in the molecular packing in the crystal structure.
