Abstract

EPR spectra of VO2+ ions doped [C<inf>6</inf>H<inf>4</inf>AsNO (H<inf>2</inf>O)<inf>2</inf>] and powder have been studied at room temperatures. The detailed EPR analysis have shown that two different VO2+ complexes are located in different chemical environments, and each environment contains two magnetically inequvalent VO2+ sites in distinct orientations occupying interstitial positions in the lattice and show very high angular dependence. The EPR spectra of VO2+ are characteristic of tetragonally compressed complex. The spin Hamiltonian parameters obtained from single crystal data for two VO2+ complexes. These are found to be axially symmetric. The EPR spin-Hamiltonien parameters have been used to evaluate the bonding coefficients of the vanadyl ion in the arsanilic acid lattice. © 2006 Elsevier B.V.
