Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Fizik Konularıyla İlgili Proje Hazırlamaya Yönelik Görüşlerinin Bazı Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma yatılı bölge ortaokulu öğrencilerinin proje hazırlama ve eğitim alma isteklerinin nedenlerine yönelik görüşlerinin bazı değişkenler açısından incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Kesitsel tarama modeli kullanılan araştırmanın katılımcılarını yatılı bölge ortaokulundaki 5.-8. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 123 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri, iki bölümden oluşan görüş formundan ve gönüllü öğrencilerle yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış yüz yüze görüşmelerden toplanmıştır. Görüş formunun birinci bölümünde öğrencilerin demografik bilgileri, ikinci bölümünde proje hazırlama ve eğitim alma istekleriyle ilgili iki kapalı, üç açık uçlu soru bulunmaktadır. Kapalı uçlu sorular öğrencilerin proje hazırlama ve eğitim alma istekleri ilgili olurken, açık uçlu sorular isteklerinin nedenlerine yönelik görüşlerini içermektedir. Öğrencilerin görüşleri betimsel analiz ile iki kategori ve yedi alt kategoride analiz edilmiş olup her alt kategorideki kodların frekans ve yüzde değerleri değişkenlere göre analiz edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin proje hazırlama ve eğitim alma isteklerinin değişkenler açısından anlamlı fark olup olmadığını belirlemek için Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testleri kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca değişkenler arasında ilişkinin bulunup bulunmadığını belirlemek için Spearman sıra farkları korelasyon katsayısı hesaplanmış ve anlamlılık düzeyi p<0,01 ve p<0,05 alınmıştır. Görüşme formunun Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı 0,836 bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğrencilerin %74,0'ı proje hazırlama isteği, %78,0'i proje eğitimi almak istediği, %69,1'i her ikisini birlikte yapmak istediği, isteme ve istememe nedenlerinin benzer olduğu söylenebilir. Öğrencilerin proje hazırlama ve eğitim alma isteklerinin fen bilimleri dersini sevme düzeylerine göre anlamlı fark varken cinsiyet, sınıf, gitmek istedikleri lise ve çalışmak istedikleri meslek grubu açısından anlamlı fark olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bazı değişkenler arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunurken bazıları arasında ilişkinin anlamlı olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilere verilecek olan proje tabanlı eğitimler onların düzeylerine uygun olması, ihtiyaçlarını ve meraklarını giderecek şekilde hazırlanması ve uygulaması için gereken önemin verilmesi önerilmektedir.

This research was conducted in order to examine the opinions of the students at the regional boarding secondary school by regarding the reasons for their willing about preparing project and take education according to some variables. The number of participants at this study used a cross-sectional survey model were 123 students consisting from fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades at the regional boarding secondary school. The data was collected from a two-part opinion form and semi-structured face-to-face conversations with volunteer students. In the first part of the opinion form, there were the demographic information of the students while there were two closed-ended and three open-ended questions about their willing to preparing projects and take education in the second part of the form. While closed-ended questions were related to students' willing to preparing projects and take education, open-ended questions contained their opinions about the reasons for their willing. The students' opinions were analyzed in two categories and seven sub-categories with descriptive analysis, and the frequency values of the codes in each sub-category were analyzed according to the variables. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used in order to determine whether there was meaningful difference between students' willing to preparing projects and take education in terms of variables. Besides, Spearman rank difference correlation coefficient was calculated to determine whether there was a relationship between variables and meaningfulness level was taken as p<0,01 and p<0,05. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was found as 0.836. According to the findings, it can be said that 74.0% of the students want to prepare a project, 78.0% of them want to take project education, 69.1 % of them want to do both together, and the reasons why they want or not wanting are similar. While there is a meaningful difference between students' willing to preparing projects and take education according to their level of liking the science course, it has been determined that there is no meaningful difference in terms of gender, class, high school they want to study and the profession group they want to work with. Furthermore, while there is a meaningful relationship between some variables, it is found that there is no meaningful relationship between some of them. It is recommended that Project-based education to be given to students should be appropriate for their level; the necessary importance should be given to its preparation and implementation by regarding their needs and curiosity.
