4-(1-Indanyloxy)phthalonitrile

Abstract

In the title compound, C<inf>17</inf>H<inf>12</inf>N<inf>2</inf>O, the phthalonitrile group is coplanar with the three-atom bridge linking the phthalonitrile group with the indanyloxy group. The five-membered ring of the indanyloxy moiety adopts an envelope conformation. The crystal structure of the title compound is stabilized by two C-H⋯π interactions and van der Waals interactions. © 2004 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
