Xı. Yüzyılın İlk Yarısında Doğu Anadolu'da Bizans Askeri Varlığı

Abstract

Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi, sahip olduğu stratejik konumu sebebiyle pek çok devletin ele geçirmek istediği bir yerdir. Bizans da bölgeye hâkim olmak isteyen topluluklar içerisinde yer alır. Ortaya koyduğumuz çalışmanın amacı Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinin XI. yüzyılın ilk yarısında Bizans hâkimiyetinde geçirmiş olduğu siyasi evre ve Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinin sahip olduğu stratejik önemi ortaya koyarak bir bütünlük oluşturmaktır. Çalışmamız giriş bölümü dışında üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Bizans Devletinin kısa bir tarihçesi ortaya konulmuş olup çalışmanın ana bölümünü ikinci ve üçüncü bölümler oluşturmaktadır. İkinci bölümde askeri ve siyasi olayların temelini teşkil eden yol güzergâhları incelenmiş olup askeri birlikler olan themalar ortaya konulmuş olup; üçüncü bölümde ise Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde güç gösterisinde bulunan Selçuklu, Bizans, Ermeni, Arap mücadelesi ortaya konulmuştur. East Anatolia Region is a place that many states want to capture because of the strategic location that it has. Byzantium takes place among the communities that wants to dominate the region. The aim of the study that we present is to form completeness by presenting the political phase transition that East Anatolia has under the Byzantium domination during the first half of three parts except the introduction part. In the first part, short history of Byzantium is presented. The second and the third parts form the main part of the study. In the second part, the routes that constitutes the basis of military and political events are examined, and the Themas that are military units are presented; in the third part, the battle among Seljuk, Byzantium, Armenian and Arabian that show of strenght in East Anatolia is presented.
