İslami Feminist Bir Grup Olarak Sis(Sisters İn Islam)'in Kadın Konusundaki Çalışmaları ve Düşünceleri

Abstract

Feminizm, kadınlarda cinsiyet baskısının sona ermesi ve toplumsal cinsiyet tutumlarının aynı değerde olması için toplumun değişimini amaçlayan bir teoridir. Öte yandan feminizme, erkek düşmanlığı, kadınları erkeklerden üstün görme, erkeklere karşı saldırgan bir tutum sergileme gibi çok farklı yorumlar getirilebilmektedir. Farklı feminist teoriler, duruma farklı açılardan yaklaşabilmektedir. Tez, bu farklı teorilerden İslami Feminizm üzerinde yoğunlaşıp, İslami Feminist bir grup olan SIS (Sisters in Islam)'in çalışmalarını ve düşüncelerini ortaya koyma ereğindedir. Bu bağlamda İslam ve Feminizm kavramlarının bir arada olup olamayacağı, İslamiyet'in kadını ikincil konuma koyup koymadığı gibi sorulara yanıt aranmıştır. Araştırmada üstünde durulan diğer noktalar Müslüman kadınların birey olma mücadeleleri ve Sisters in Islam'ın görüşlerinin İslami Feminizm'le paralellik gösterip göstermediğidir. Kaynaklar üzerinde yapılan detaylı inceleme ve analiz sonucunda SIS'in çalışmalarının ve düşüncelerinin İslamiyet ve Feminizmi ahenkle bir araya getirdiği örneklerle belirtilmiştir. Ayrıca grubun daha öteye geçerek sadece kadını değil, erkeği de bilinçlendirme çabasında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Grubun ulusal ve uluslararası tüm çalışmalarının sadece kadın konusunda değil, insan hakları, sosyal sorumluluk ve ulusu bilinçlendirme gibi alanlarda da olduğu tespit edilmiştir. SIS, kadının bu ikincil konumunun ataerkil sistemdeki kültürel geleneğin kadınların aleyhine yorumlanmasından kaynaklı olduğunu düşünmektedir. Bu yüzden, İslam kaynaklarının kadın bakış açısıyla yeniden yorumlanması fikrini savunarak çalışmalarına devam etmektedir. On the other hand, feminism can be interpreted in various ways, such as hostility against men, regarding women superior to men or displaying an aggressive attitude against men. Different feminist theories can handle the situation from different perspectives. The purpose of this thesis is to put forth the studies and perspectives of SIS (Sisters in Islam), an Islamic Feminist organization, by focusing on Islamic Feminism from those theories. Within this context, some answers to the questions as whether the concepts Islam and Feminism can coexist and whether Islam sets women to the secondary position were sought. Other points discussed in the research were the struggle of Muslim women to be individual and if the perspectives of Sisters in Islam is in parallel with Islamic Feminism or not. As a result of the detailed observations and analyses of the sources, it was indicated through examples that the studies and perspectives of SIS work well together with Islamic Feminism and Islam. Furthermore, it was determined that the organization is in the effort of creating awareness among not only women, but also men. All the national and international studies of the organization are stated to be not solely about women, but about social areas such as human rights, social responsibilities and making the nation conscious. SIS asserts that inferior position of women is called by the interpretation of the cultural tradition in patriarchal system against women. Therefore, they proceed their studies by asserting the opinion that the sources of Islam are to be revised again from the perspective of women. Keywords: Feminism, Islamic Feminism, Gender Jihad
