Publication: 1980 Transformation of the Turkish Economy: Capital Accumulation Process, Crisis, and Changing Integration
Abstract
The year 1980 marked an extremely important transformation for the Turkish economy. Studies have addressed this transformation from different perspectives, with some affirming the merits of the transformation and others being very critical of it. While the critical studies differ in their critique of the transformation, they all share the common view that the capitalist relationships in Turkey have deepened because of this transformation. However, it is important to draw attention to the lack of a conceptual-theoretical perspective in these critical studies. In this chapter, focusing on the essential structural-systemic dynamics, we aim to present an alternative framework to explain this transformation. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2020.
