Abstract

Periodontal rejenerasyon, periodontal hastalık sonucu kaybedilen dokuların eksiksiz olarak fonksiyonel bir birim oluşturacak şekilde hastaya tekrar kazandırılması şeklinde ifade edilmektedir. Bu amaçla günümüze kadar çok çeşitli materyal ve yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bunlardan en sonuncu ve dikkat çekici olanı içinde konsantre şekilde büyüme faktörlerinin bulunduğu trombositten zengin plazma (PRP)'drr. Bu derleme trombositten zengin plazmanın olası etki mekanizmaları, avantajları, hazırlama tekniği ve periodontal ve oral maksillofasial cerrahi uygulamalarını konu almaktadır.Periodontal regeneration is defined as the complete restoration of the periodontal tissues lost due to periodontal disease so as to form a functional unit. To date, so many materials and technologies have been used for this purpose.The latest and currently the most popular one is platelet rich plasma (PRP). This paper reviews potential mechanisms of action of PRP, its advantages, preparation techniques and clinical applications in periodontology and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
