Resim-İş Eğitiminin Yabancı Dilde Sözcük Öğretimine Katkısı ve Öğretim Programları Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

Resim-İş Eğitimi dersinin diğer disiplinlere katkısı olduğu bilinen bir konudur. Bu dersin içeriği ve genel amaçları gereği diğer öğretim programlarıyla yakın ilişki içerisindedir. Derslerde, resim ve çizim ile öğretim tekniklerinin kullanılması öğretmen ve öğrenciler açısından ne boyutta bir yarar sağlayabileceği ise sürekli tartışılan bir konudur. Eğitim dünyasında öğretmen ve öğrenci açısından görsel öğrenmenin öneminin ne kadar bilindiği ve çoklu zekâ kuramları doğrultusunda görsel öğrenen bireyler için bu tarz bir eğitimin, bireyin öğrenim yaşantısına ne boyutta bir katkı sağlayacağı konuları bu araştırmanın temel konularındandır. Bu nedenle yapılan bu araştırmada yabancı dil öğretmenlerine sunulabilecek bir resim eğitiminin, yabancı dil öğretim ve öğrenim sürecinde hem öğrenci hem de öğretmen açısından ne kadar yararlı olabileceği konusu incelenmiştir. Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'ndeki Yabancı Dil ve Resim-İş Eğitimi bölümlerinde eğitim alan öğrenciler dikkate alınarak, her iki öğretim programı incelenmiş, disiplinler arası bağın önemi ve bu bağın iki disiplin arasında nasıl ilerleyebileceği konusu irdelenmiştir. Yabancı Diller Bölümü (İngilizce ve Almanca) 3 ve 4. sınıf toplam 100 öğrenciye 20 sorudan oluşan Likert tipi bir anket uygulanarak konu ile ilgili düşünceleri sorulmuştur. Araştırmada toplanan veri ve bilgilerin ışığında Resim-İş Eğitimi dersinin Yabancı Dil dersleriyle ne kadar yakından ilişkili olduğuna açıklık getirilmiştir. Yabancı Dil derslerinde görsel öğrenme yetisine sahip bireyler için çizim ile sözcük öğretiminin etkisi gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır. Uygulanan anket ile olası bir resim eğitiminin ihtiyacı ölçülmüş ve bu eğitim ile yabancı dil eğitiminin niteliğinin ne boyutta artabileceği konusu gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır. Son olarak çalışma ile dil eğitiminde sözcük öğretimini desteklemek ve daha etkili kılmak adına üniversite düzeyinde Yabancı Dil bölümü öğrencilerine uzmanlar tarafından hazırlanacak bir program yardımıyla Resim-İş eğitimi verilmesinin yararlı olabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Painting is a subject known to contribute to other disciplines. This course is in close relation with other educational programs due to the content and general objectives of it. The use of teaching techniques with painting and drawing in the lessons is a matter of constant discussion in terms of teachers' and students' benefits. The importance of visual learning in terms of teachers and students in the world of education and the ways in which this kind of education contributes to the learning life of the individual are fundamental subjects of this research. Therefore, in this research, it has been examined whether a drawing education offered to foreign language teachers can be useful for both students and teachers in foreign language teaching and learning process or not. Considering the students studying at Ondokuz Mayıs University in the Foreign Language and Visual Art Education departments at the university level, both education programs were observed, and the importance of the interdisciplinary connection and the relationship between the two disciplines were examined. A total of 100 students in the 3rd and 4th grades of the Department of Foreign Languages (English and German) were asked a Likert-type questionnaire consisting of 20 questions. In the light of the data and information gathered in the research, it is clarified how closely the Visual Art Education course is related to Foreign Language courses. The aim of the study is to show the effect of vocabulary teaching on foreign language lessons. The aim of the questionnaire was to measure the need for a possible drawing education and to demonstrate the extent to which the quality of foreign language education would increase. Finally, with the help of a program prepared by experts in order to support and make more effective vocabulary teaching in language education, it was concluded that it would be beneficial to provide Visual Art education to foreign language students at the university level.
