3-Substituted Phthalides, Part XXIX. 3-(4-Butylphenylamino)Isobenzofuran-1(3H)-One

Abstract

The crystal structure of the title compound, C18H19NO2, is stabilized by inter-molecular N - H⋯O and C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds and also C - H⋯π inter-actions. These hy-drogen-bond inter-actions generate edge-fused R 2 2(8)R 2 2(10)R 2 2(8)R 4 2(20)R 2 2(8)R 2 2(10)R 2 2(8) ring motifs. The phthalide group is planar and oriented at a dihedral angle of 57.92 (16)° with respect to the benzene ring. © International Union of Crystallography 2007.
