Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı; belirli spor branşlarını (futbol, hokey, güreş, kayak, okçuluk, atletizm, eskrim ve cirit) yansıtan antik dönem spor figürlerinin farklı alanlardaki lisans öğrencileri (arkeoloji, güzel sanatlar, spor bilimleri) tarafından nasıl algılandığının araştırılmasıdır. Ayrıca araştırma, çevrim içi ve basılı kaynakların incelenmesi ile antik dönem spor figürlerin yorumlanmasına yöneliktir. Araştırmaya arkeoloji, güzel sanatlar ve spor bilimleri alanından olmak üzere 122 erkek, 87 kadın toplamda 209 öğrenci dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada, bazı antik dönem spor figürleri hakkında öğrenci görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Antik döneme ait ve futbol sporunu tasvir eden figür hakkında kadınların (%43,7) spor ve eğlenceye yönelik görüşleri, erkeklerden (%25,4) yüksek iken erkeklerin (%63,1) hem spor hemde savaş amaçlı olarak görüşleri, kadın öğrencilerden (%47,13) daha yüksektir. Yine futbolun popülerliği hakkında ki görüşlerde kadın öğrencilerin, günümüzde popüler bir spor (%71,3) ifadelerinde erkeklerden (%55,7) daha yüksek ortalaması olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Cirit'in popüler olmadığını düşünün güzel sanatlarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin (%84,3) arkeoloji öğrencilerinden (%57,1) daha yüksek ortalamaya sahiptir. Eskrimi tasvir eden Antik dönem spor figürünün, Türk kültür özelliklerini yansıtmasında ki öğrenci görüşlerinde spor bilimlerinde okuyan öğrencilerin (%73,9), güzel sanatlar (%57,1) ve arkeoloji öğrencilerine (%47,1) göre daha yüksek ortalamaya bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak; Antik dönem kabartmaları hakkında, öğrenci görüşlerinin birbirine benzer algı taşıdıkları sonucuna varılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to investigate how sports figures of ancient history, which reflect certain branches of sports (soccer, hockey, wrestling, skiing, archery, athletics, fencing and javelin), are comprehended by different undergraduates studying archaeology, fine arts and sports sciences. Besides, the research aims to study the online and printed resources and to comment on ancient history sports figures. Totally 209 students were included in the study, 122 of which were males and 87 females studying archaeology, fine arts and sports sciences. Throughout the research, some figures indicated to be a certain branch of sports were chosen and students' opinions regarding them were asked. Regarding the figure, which belonged to the ancient history and described football, female students' (43.7%) opinions regarding sports and fun were higher when compared with males (25.4%), whereas male students' (63.1%) opinions regarding both sports and war were higher than that of females (47.13%). It may also be asserted that, regarding their viewpoints about the popularity of football, female students have a higher average in their statement 'a popular sports branch in today's world' (71.3%) when compared with male students (55.7%). It may be expressed that, students studying fine arts who think that javelin is not popular (84.3%), have a higher average than that of archaeology students (57.1%). Regarding the student opinions concerning whether the ancient history sports figure describing fencing reflects the properties of Turkish culture, it was found that students studying sports sciences (73.9%) had a higher average when compared with fine arts (57.1%) and archaeology students (47.1%). As a conclusion, regarding the sports figures symbolized by ancient history reliefs, it was concluded that the opinions of students of sports sciences and different areas were similar in terms of comprehension.
