Abstract

A Cu(II) complex of a Schiff base obtained by the condensation of N,N-dimethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine with 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde has been synthesized and characterized. The structure of the complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray methods. The four-coordinate Cu(II) ion possesses a compressed tetrahedral coordination environment. © 2006 Taylor & Francis.
