Abstract
The Co(II), Fe(II), and Zn(II) complexes of 1-(3-phenyl)propylbenzimidazole (PPBI), 5-nitro-1-(3-phenyl) propylbenzimidazole (PPNBI), 1-[2-(4-morpholinyl)ethyl]benzimidazole (MEBI), 1-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethyl]benzimidazole (PEBI), and 5-nitro-1-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethyl]benzimidazole (PENBI) were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and elemental analyses. The magnitudes of the magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes were between 4.07 and 5.11 B.M. Moreover, the crystal structure of dichlorobis{1-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethyl]-1 H-benzimidazole-KN3} zinc(II) was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. © TÜB̄TAK.
