Ortaöğretim Kurumlarında 10. Sınıf Öğrencilerinde Tarihsel Zaman Kavram Yanılgıları

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ortaöğretim tarih derslerinde 'Zaman' kavramının öğrenilmesinde öğrencilerin karşılaştıkları sorunlar ele alınmıştır. Tez; Giriş, I. Bölüm Tarih ve Zaman, II. Bölüm Yöntem, III. Bölüm Bulgular ve Yorumlar, IV. Bölüm Sonuç ve Öneriler olmak üzere dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma, Samsun il merkezinde bulunan farklı türlere sahip on ortaöğretim kurumunda 10. sınıfta okumakta olan 343 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Uygulamada açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan on soruluk bir anket kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin vermiş oldukları cevaplar, SPSS 17 istatistik programında değerlendirilmiş ve çıkan sonuçlar tablolar halinde analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri yorumlandığında, hangi tür lisede olursa olsun, öğrencilerin zaman kavramını kavrama konusunda eksiklikleri olduğu, ortaokuldan gelirken zaman kavramını tam olarak anlamadan geldikleri, özellikle sözel derslerin daha yoğun verildiği Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi ve Öğretmen Lisesinin anket sorularına beklenilen oranda cevap veremedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucundan, zaman kavramının anlaşılmasında öğrenciden, ders müfredatından, araç gereçlerden, ders saatlerinin az olmasından, kullanılan öğretim stratejileri, yöntem ve tekniklerden kaynaklanan problemlerin yaşandığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

In this study, the problems that students encounter in high school history lessons while learning 'time' concept have been investigated. This thesis is composed of four parts which are introduction, history and time, method, findings and comments, conclusion and suggestions. The study is conducted among 343 10th grade students at different types of high schools in Samsun city centre. A questionnaire which is consisted of ten open-ended questions, is used. The answers of students have been evaluated by SPSS 16 statistical program, the results have been analyzed on tables and interpreted. When the results have been interpreted, it has been seen that students have shortness in comprehending 'time concept' in whatever type of school they are, that they came from secondary school with lack of 'time concept knowledge' and that they could not comprehend the converting process of centuries and what is mentioned by the time expressions in their course books. As a conclusion of the study, it has been seen that there are problems in understanding 'time concept' which stem from students, teachers, curricula, materials, lack of lesson hours and methods, techniques and strategies used in classroom.
