Büyük Taarruz'da 2 Nci Ordu Harekatı

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, Kurtuluş Savaşı'nın en kritik aşamalarından biri olan Büyük Taarruz sürecinde 2 nci Ordu'nun rolü incelenmiştir. Mondros Mütarekesi sonrası Osmanlı ordusunun dağıtılması, silahsızlandırılması ve işgaller karşısında yaşanan askeri zafiyet, düzenli ordunun yeniden teşkilini zorunlu kılmıştır. Bu kapsamda, 1921 yılında Yakup Şevki Paşa komutasında yeniden kurulan 2 nci Ordu, Büyük Taarruz öncesi eğitim, lojistik, mühimmat ve moral yönünden önemli hazırlıklar yapmış; stratejik bölgelerdeki savunma ve taarruz görevlerini üstlenmiştir. Tezde, 2 nci Ordu'nun kuruluş süreci, komuta yapısı, bağlı birlikleri, savaş öncesi hazırlıkları, sevk ve idaresi ile Büyük Taarruz'daki askeri harekatı arşiv belgeleri, dönemin anıları ve askeri raporlar ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Ordu'nun hem doğrudan hem de dolaylı katkıları analiz edilmiş, savaşın kazanılmasında oynadığı rol detaylı şekilde ortaya konmuştur. Bu çalışma, 2 nci Ordu özelinde, düzenli ordunun vatan savunmasındaki önemine, disiplinli yapılanmanın zaferdeki belirleyici gücüne ve liderliğin askeri başarıya etkisine ışık tutmaktadır. Ayrıca, askeri tarih literatüründe eksik kalan bir konuya dikkat çekerek, akademik katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

In this thesis, the role of the 2nd Army during the Great Offensive, one of the most critical phases of the Turkish War of Independence, is examined. Following the Armistice of Mudros, the disbandment and disarmament of the Ottoman army and the resulting military weakness in the face of occupations necessitated the reorganization of a regular army. In this context, the 2nd Army, re-established under the command of Yakup Şevki Pasha in 1921, undertook important preparations in training, logistics, ammunition, and morale before the Great Offensive and assumed defense and attack duties in strategic regions. The thesis evaluates the establishment process of the 2nd Army, its command structure, subordinate units, pre-war preparations, command and control, and military operations during the Great Offensive through archival documents, memoirs of the period, and military reports. Both the direct and indirect contributions of the army were analyzed, and its role in the victory was thoroughly revealed. This study, specifically focusing on the 2nd Army, highlights the importance of the regular army in national defense, the decisive power of disciplined organization in victory, and the impact of leadership on military success. Additionally, it aims to draw attention to an overlooked topic in military historiography and contribute academically to the literature.
