Milli Mücadele'de Samsun

Abstract

Milli Miicadele Donemi'nde Samsun Pontuss;u faaliyetlerine, i~galci kuvvetlerin saidinianna maruz kalmI~tIr. Samsun halkI, Pontuss;ulara kar~I milis kuvvetler olu~mu~tur. Bu kuvvetler, bolgede haiki Milli Miicadele is;in orgiitleyen Miidafaai Hukuk Cemiyetleri tarafIndan destek gormii~tiir. Pontuss;u faaliyetleri neticesinde pek s;ok Tiirk olmii~tiir. Pontuss;u faaliyetlerin giderek artmasl iizerine TBMM kurulduktan sonra askeri idari, siyasi onlemler ahnmI~tIr. Bu onlemler sayesinde Pontus faaliyetleri etkisiz kIhnmI~tlf. Ancak TBMM'ye gozdagi vermek ve Pontuss;u faaliyetleri desteklemek is;in i~galci gii<;;ler zaman zaman Karadeniz' e donanma gondermi~tir.

Samsun had been a center of Pontus activities and had seen violation of its structure by the Entente Powers, especially by British forces. When the government proved that it was unable to protect them, the Turks living in Samsun began to establish militia forces supported by the Society of Defense for National Rights. Following the increasing Pontus activities that had caused deaths of many Turks, military, administrative and political measures were taken by the TurkIsh Grand National Assembly. Although the Entente warships visited Samsun and other cities at several times in support of the Pontus activities, the mausures were affective in curbing the extent of Pontus organisations.
