dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the development of wavelet based transformer protection algorithm. Continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is used for analyzing discontinuities in the primary current signal during internal faults. A custom-built transformer with different tap windings is used for the laboratory studies. A number of experiments are performed at the laboratory in order to test the performance of the proposed technique regarding the speed of response, computational burden and reliability. © 2006 IEEE.en_US
