Yeni Asur Dönemi'nde Asur Devleti'nin Batı Yayılımı

Abstract

Emperyalist ve yayılmacı bir anlayışa sahip olan Asur Devleti, imparatorluk hâlini aldığı Yeni Asur Dönemi'nde hâkimiyet alanını oldukça geniş coğrafyalara ulaştırmayı başarmış ve çağının rakipsiz gücü olmuştur. Asur Devleti bu yükselme devrinin beraberinde getirdiği iktisadi zenginlikler neticesinde Doğu Akdeniz kıyılarında önemli ticaret yolları üzerinde egemenliğini sağlamış ve elde etmiş olduğu gerek ham madde kaynakları, gerekse kölelerden oluşan işgücü ülke içerisinde imar ve inşa faaliyetlerinde kullanılmak üzere karşılıksız olarak temin edilmiştir. Krallar tarafından yürütülmüş olan bu yayılmacı politikanın, ülkenin gerçek sahibi kabul edilen Tanrı Aššur'un emir ve istekleri doğrultusunda gerçekleştiği öne sürülmüş ve bu yöntemle kutsiyet kazandırılmıştır. Bu kutsiyet çerçevesinde Asur kralları hâkimiyetleri altına almak istedikleri bölgelerdeki yerli halkların Tanrı Aššur'a karşı isyan içerisinde olduklarını iddia etmişlerdir. Ancak Asur Devleti'nin bu yayılmacı politikasının görünürdeki gerekçeleri dini olmuş, aslî gerekçesini ise iktisadi kazanımlar oluşturmuştur. Tüm bu politika ekseninde, Asur ülkesinin batısında Akdeniz sahillerine kadar uzanan topraklar sahip olduğu ticaret yolları ve hammadde kaynaklarından dolayı Asur Devleti'nin ana yayılım alanlarından biri hâline gelmiştir.

The Assyrian State, which has an imperialist and expansionist understanding, succeeded in extending the area of domination to a very wide geography during the New Assyrian Period when it became an empire and became the unrivaled power of its era. As a result of the economic wealth gains that the Assyrian State brought with it, the sovereignty of the Assyrian State gained sovereignty on the important trade routes on the Eastern Mediterranean coasts and obtained both raw material resources and the labor of slaves for the construction and construction activities in the country. It was suggested that this expansionist policy carried out by the kings was realized in accordance with the orders and wishes of God Aššur, who is accepted as the real owner of the country, and was sanctified by this method. Within this sanctity, the Assyrian kings claimed that the indigenous peoples in the regions they wanted to dominate were in rebellion against God Aššur. However, the apparent reasons for this expansionist policy of the Assyrian State have been religious, and the main reason has been economic gains. In the context of this policy, the lands extending to the Mediterranean coast in the west of the Assyrian country have become one of the main spread areas of Assyrian State due to its trade routes and raw material resources.
