2,2'-Bipyridinium Fluoro­trioxochromate(VI)

Abstract

A facile synthesis of 2,2′-bipyridinium fluorochromate(VI), (C <inf>10</inf>H<inf>9</inf>N<inf>2</inf>)[CrO<inf>3</inf>F], was developed by reacting CrO<inf>3</inf> with HF in the presence of 2,2′-bipyridine. The structure of the title compound consists of discrete cations and anions. The coordination around Cr is distorted tetrahedral. © 2007 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.
