Türkiye'de Çocuk Edebiyatı Hikâye ve Romanlarında Korku Teması (2000-2020 Yılları Arası)

Abstract

Children's literature has been created for children whose needs, thoughts, expectations, psychology and interpretation abilities are different from adults. The subject variety of this literature has increased over time. The theme of fear, which we have just encountered today, is a manifestation of this diversity. Problems such as how to deal with the theme of fear, which is especially included in stories and novels and causing controversy, in children's books, how it will affect the psychology and development of the child, and how the aspects that are thought to be negative as well as the positive aspects can be turned into positive require thinking on and producing solutions. The study can be seen as a first step based on making some determinations based on examples in the context of the relationship between children's literature and fear, making thoughts and how solutions can be produced. In the study, twenty-three works in the types of stories and novels, which were published between 2000 and 2020, were discussed with the document analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Attention was paid to the fact that these works were from different authors, and the few series of books were discussed together in order not to spoil the integrity. The books were tried to be examined in the perspective of child reality, and the factors such as the situation, event, person, place, sound, animal that a child might be afraid of while reading the book were determined separately in the light of other studies. In addition, the compatibility of the book images with the subject and whether they have an element of fear were examined. Determined fear types were examined under nine main headings as fairy tale and legend elements, animals, psychological fears, people, places, violence, natural events and other elements. The most common horror elements in the books were fairy tales and legends in twenty-seven places and fear-inducing animals in twenty-four places. It has been seen that fear, which is thought to be harmful by parents and some researchers, can be beneficial if it is carefully and artistically prepared in accordance with child psychology and child perspective. The aim of the books, which contain elements of fear that the child can easily encounter everywhere, should be to show the child that every known scary thing is actually a concept that he can struggle with, and to eliminate the child's sense of fear with a method that will eliminate that horror. While doing this, it should be seen as another achievement of the theme, increasing the child's curiosity and excitement and making the child love reading. Çocuk edebiyatı ihtiyaçları, düşünceleri, beklentileri, psikolojileri, yorumlama yetenekleri yetişkinlerden farklı olan çocuklar için oluşturulmuştur. Bu edebiyatın konu çeşitliliği zamanla artmıştır. Günümüzde yeni yeni karşılaştığımız korku teması bu çeşitliğin bir tezahürüdür. Özellikle hikâye ve romanlarda yer verilen ve tartışmalara yol açan korku temasının çocuk kitaplarında nasıl ele alınacağı, çocuğun psikolojisi ve gelişimi üzerinde nasıl bir etkisinin olacağı ve olumlu yönleri kadar olumsuz olduğu düşünülen yönlerinin nasıl olumluya çevrilebileceği gibi problemler, üzerinde düşünmeyi ve çözüm üretmeyi gerektirmektedir. Çalışma çocuk edebiyatı-korku teması ilişkisi bağlamında örnekler üzerinden hareketle bazı tespitler yapmayı, düşündürmeyi ve nasıl çözümler üretilebileceğini esas alarak ortaya konulmuş bir ilk adım olarak görülebilir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi tekniği ile basımı 2000-2020 yıllarını kapsayan hikâye ve roman türünde yirmi üç eser ele alınmıştır. Bu eserlerin farklı yazarlardan olmasına dikkat edilmiş, az sayıdaki seri kitaplar bütünlüğün bozulmaması için birlikte ele alınmıştır. Kitaplar, çocuk gerçekliği perspektifinde incelenmeye çalışılmış, bir çocuğun kitabı okurken korku duyabileceği durum, olay, kişi, mekân, ses, hayvan gibi unsurlar diğer çalışmaların ışığında ayrı ayrı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca kitap görsellerinin konuyla uyumuna ve korku unsuru taşıyıp taşımadığına bakılmıştır. Belirlenen korku türleri masal ve efsane unsurları, hayvanlar, psikolojik korkular, kişiler, mekânlar, şiddet, doğa olayları ve diğer unsurlar olarak dokuz ana başlıkta incelenmiştir. Kitaplarda en çok karşılaşılan korku unsurları yirmi yedi yerde geçen masal ve efsane unsurları ile yirmi dört yerde geçen korku uyandıran hayvanlar olmuştur. Ebeveynler ve bazı araştırmacılar tarafından zararlı olduğu düşünülen korkunun çocuk psikolojisi ve çocuk bakış açısına riayet edilerek dikkatli ve sanatsal bir şekilde hazırlanması durumunda faydalarının olacağı görülmüştür. Çocuğun her yerde rahatlıkla karşılaşabileceği korku unsurlarının bulunduğu kitaplarda amaç, çocuğa her korkunç bilinenin aslında mücadele edebileceği bir kavram olduğunu göstermek ve o korkunçluğu giderecek bir yöntemle çocuğun korku duygusunu ortadan kaldırmak olmalıdır. Bunu yaparken çocuğun merak ve heyecanını arttırarak çocuğa kitap okumayı sevdirmesi, temanın bir başka kazanımı olarak görülmelidir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Çocuk Edebiyatı, Korku, Hikâye, Roman
