Bilişim Teknolojilerinin (bt) Coğrafya Eğitiminde Aktif Öğrenmeye Etkileri

Abstract

MEB Öğretmenlik Mesleği Genel Yeterlikleri metninde 'Öğretme ve Öğrenme Sürecini Yönetme' yeterliğinin göstergelerinden biri olarak kabul edilen bilişim teknolojileri (BT) kullanımının coğrafya derslerinde aktif öğrenmeye etkileri bu araştırmanın konusunu oluşturmuştur. Bilişim teknolojileri destekli aktif öğrenmenin beynin çalışmasına uygunluğu, etkinliği, bu etkinliğin coğrafya derslerinde artırılmasına yönelik olarak öğrenciler, coğrafya öğretmenleri, öğrenci velileri ve okul müdürlerinin birbirlerinden beklentilerini ortaya koymak araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaçla, paralel karma yöntem araştırması modelinde desenlenen araştırmanın nicel boyutunda her biri on beş lise öğrencisinden oluşan beş öğrenci grubu ile ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel uygulamalar gerçekleştirilmiş, nitel boyutunda ise 116 coğrafya öğretmeni, 74 okul müdürü, 150 9.sınıf öğrencisi ve 100 öğrenci velisinden oluşan gruplar ile odak grup görüşmeleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, coğrafya derslerinde bilişim teknolojilerinin (BT) kullanımının, aktif öğrenme ve destekleyici öğrenme ürünleri üzerinde olumlu etkiler bıraktığı konusunda eğitim sistemini oluşturan bütün grupların hemfikir olduğu görülmüştür.

The subject of this thesis is the influence of using information technologies (ICT) on active learning in geography lessons, which is considered as one of the indicators of 'Teaching and Learning Process Management' in the text of General Competences of Teacher Profession updated by Ministry of National Education. The aim of the study is to reveal the expectations of students, geography teachers, students parents and school administrators from each other in order to increase the appropriateness of information technologies-based active learning (ICT) to the functioning of the brain and to increase this effectiveness in geography courses. For this purpose, in the quantitative dimension of the research, which was designed in parallel mixed method research model, five experimental group consisting of fifteen high school students and pre-test-posttest control group were carried out. In the qualitative dimension of the study, focus group interviews were conducted with groups consisting of 116 geography teachers, 74 school principals, 150 9th grade students and 100 parents. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that the use of information technologies (ICT) in geography lessons had positive effects on active learning and supporting learning products.
