Anatomy of Thyroid Gland

Abstract

Thyroid gland diseases are very common conditions. Especially hyperplasia of thyroid gland and thyroid nodules which are publicly known as goitre is important health problem. A well knowledge of anatomy of the thyroid gland is important for routine clinical practice and thyroid surgery. In this paper, we tried to present a detailed anatomy of the thyroid gland starting from its embryology. © 2012 OMU.
