1-[(4-Nitrophenylamino)Methylene]Naphthalen-2(1H)-one

Abstract

The molecular structure of C<inf>17</inf>H<inf>12</inf>N<inf>2</inf>O <inf>3</inf> was analyzed. This compound was prepared using 4-nitroaniline and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthol as starting materials. Crystals of the compound were obtained from an acetone solution by slow evaporation. It was shown that the molecule of the compound is nearly planar and adopts a keto-amine tautomeric form, with an intramolecular N-H···O hydrogen bond.
