Edebî Metnin Anlamının Teşekkülünde Okurun Rolü

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, okur kavramının tarihsel olarak nasıl geliştiği ve bu gelişime yönelik olarak ortaya çıkan yorumlama teorilerinin çeşitli imkân ve sınırlılıkları tartışılacaktır. Okur kavramının tarihsel gelişimi bağlamında, son dönem Osmanlı edebiyatında, okuma ve anlama ortamının nasıl dönüştüğü, yazılı kültür etrafında yükselen yeni okur etrafında ele alınırken, ayrıca, bağlamdan arındırma ve yeniden bağlama yerleştirme noktasında Ahmet Mithat Efendi eserlerini alımlayan modern okurun yükselişine dikkat çekilecektir. Tarih içerisinde oluşmakta olan okur kavramı ve okuma/anlama ortamının dönüşmesiyle ortaya çıkan çeşitli yorumlama teorilerinin, metnin göstergeye çevrilerek sessizleşmesi yahut okurun bilincine indirgenmesi şeklinde beliren sorunları karşısında metnin konuşan bir metin olarak kalması ve okurla yeni bir bağ kurmasının imkânının nasıl olabileceği üzerinde durulacaktır. Edebî metnin anlamının teşekkülünde, okur ve metnin dünyasının, yabancılaşma/karşılaşma diyalektiği içinde ve hermenötik spiral sarmalında daha anlamlı bir ilişki içine girebileceği ve böylece metnin dünyasının yok edilmeden okurun dünyasıyla buluşturulmasının mümkün olabileceği dile getirilecektir.

This dissertation aims to explore and discuss the possibilities and limitations of various theories of interpretations which try to shed lights on the historical development and transformation of the concept of reader. From this historical-methodological viewpoint, it questions how the situation of reading and understanding was transformed in the history of late Ottoman literature regarding the rise of new written culture and reader. In this context, it analyzes the brief history of reception of the works by Ahmet Mithat Efendi by modern readers. Moreover, this dissertation tries to show the problematic aspects of some modern theories of interpretation by claiming that they mostly reduce the nature of literary text into the consciousness of reader or to the schema of silent signs. Thus, they mostly deprive it of its basic character of speaking to ever-changing contexts. Finally it argues that the horizons and worlds of literary text and reader can be understood within a dialectical relation of alienation and encounter as a form of hermeneutical spiral. Hence it can be possible to open a space for the production of meaning with the contribution of both literary text and its reader in their dynamic historical encounters.
