Azerbaycan'da Yabancı Dil Öğretiminde Bit Entegrasyonu: Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Tercihleri, Algıları ve Amaçları

Abstract

Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri (BİT) alanında yaşanan hızlı dönüşüm tüm alanları kapsamıştır. Eğitimden sağlığa güvenlikten hukuk sistemine tüm alanlarda yaşanan teknolojik dönüşüm son zamanlarda özellikle eğitim alanında kendini göstermiştir. Küresel rekabet ve kalkınmanın kilit unsurlarından biri olarak teknolojiye uyum giderek önem kazanmıştır. Ülkelerin gelişmişlik düzeyi kullandıkları teknoloji ile de ölçülmektedir. Ülkeler teknolojik entegrasyonu sağlamak amacıyla öncelikle eğitim alanında teknolojiye uyumu çözmelidir. Bu kapsamda toplumun tamamına sunmuş olduğu fırsat eşitliği konusundaki başarısı sebebiyle iletişim teknolojilerinin eğitim alanında kullanılması giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Özellikle son yıllarda küresel hareketlilik sonucu yaşanan bulaş riski ile birlikte toplu olarak fiziki ortamlarda bulunulmasının kısıtlanması ile birlikte eğitim alanında teknoloji entegrasyonunun önemi ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu kapsamda yapılan bu çalışma Azerbaycan'daki yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin yabancı dil öğretiminde bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinden yararlanmaya ilişkin tercih, algı ve amaçlarınının belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda Azerbaycan'ın Bakü şehrinde devlet ve özel okullarda görev yapan yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin katılımı ile karma araştırma yöntemleri uygulanarak araştırma amacı doğrultusunda kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 180 yabancı dil öğretmeni ile anket uygulanarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Görüşmeler pandemi sebebiyle zorunlu olarak çevrimiçi yöntem ile toplanmıştır. Nicel veri toplama işleminin ardından 10 kişilik bir grup ile yarıyapılandırılmış görüşme formu eşliğinde nitel veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılan yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin eğitimde teknoloji kullanımına yönelik tutumlarının 'algılanan fayda', 'kullanım niyeti', 'algılanan kullanım kolaylığı' alt boyutlarında olumlu yönde olduğu ancak 'teknolojik entegrasyon' alt boyutunda kısmen olumlu olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Bununla birlikte elde edilen nitel bulgulara göre ise yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin BİT kullanmalarının eğitim-öğretime olumlu katkı, zamandan tasarruf, modern öğretim şekli, öğrencilerin motivasyonunu artırması ve öğretmenlere destek sağlaması sebepleri ile kullandıkları belirlenmiştir. The rapid transformation in the field of information and communication Technologies (ICT) has covered all areas. The technological transformation experienced in all areas from education to health, from security to legal system has recently shown itself especially in the field of education. As one of the key elements of global competition and development, adaptation to technology has become increasingly important. The level of development of countries is also measured by the technology they use. In order to ensure technological integration, countries should first solve the technology adaptation in the field of education. In this context, the use of communication technologies in the field of education is becoming more and more common due to its success in equality of opportunity offered to the entire society. The importance of technology integration in the field of education has emerged, especially in recent years, with the risk of contamination as a result of global mobility and the restriction of being in physical environments collectively. In this context, this study aims to determine the pedagogical preferences, perceptions, and intentions of foreign language teachers in Azerbaijan regarding using information and communication technologies in foreign language teaching. In this context, mixed research methods were applied with the participation of foreign language teachers working in public and private schools in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, and a survey was conducted with 180 foreign language teachers determined by convenience sampling method in line with the research purpose. The interviews were compulsorily collected by online method due to the pandemic. After the quantitative data collection process, qualitative data were collected with a group of 10 participants, accompanied by a semi-structured interview form. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the attitudes of the foreign language teachers participating in the research towards the use of technology in education were positive in the sub-dimensions of 'perceived usefulness', 'intention to use', 'perceived ease of use', but partially positive in the sub-dimension of 'technological integration'. However, according to the qualitative findings obtained, it has been determined that foreign language teachers use ICT because of its positive contribution to education, saving time, modern teaching style, increasing the motivation of students and providing support to teachers.
