Abstract
Bu araştırma ortaokul öğrencilerinin üçgenlerin temel kavramları kavrama düzeyleri ve origami etkinliklerine dayalı öğretimin akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada 5. sınıf öğrencilerine origami destekli öğretimle birlikte geometri öğretimine dair üçgenler konusuna ait temel kavramları kavratmak amaçlanmıştır. Temel kavramların origami destekli öğretimle öğrencilerin bilişsel olarak gelişimlerine katkı sağlamak, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını artırmak, Euclides geometrisini öğrenci tarafından daha anlaşılır hale getirmek, öğrencilerin üçgenle ilgili kavramları doğru algılamalarını sağlamak, derslerde origami etkinliklerine yer vererek öğrencilerin ders içi motivasyonlarını arttırmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılı Giresun ilinin Dereli ilçesine bağlı aynı ilçede bulunan iki devlet okuluna ait 5. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan toplan 24 öğrenci ile birlikte yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın modeli nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan eylem araştırması modelidir. Veri toplama aracı olarak açık uçlu ön test, son test ve kalıcılık testi soruları, öğrenci günlükleri ve araştırmacı gözlem formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler nitel veri analiz yöntemlerinden betimsel analiz ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonucu origami etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına olumlu etki sağladığı görülmüştür.
This research aims to investigate levels of comprehension obtained from basic concepts of triangles on secondary school students and the effect of origami activities based teaching of their academic success. In this research, it has been aimed to teach the basic concepts of triangles about geometry teaching to 5th grade students with origami supported instruction. The aim of the research has been to contribute to the cognitive development of the students with the origami-supported instruction of the basic concepts, to increase the academic achievement of the students, to make the students understand the concepts related to the triangle by making the students understand the Euclides geometry more accurately, to increase the motivation of the students in the research by giving origami activities. The research has been carried out with 24 students attending the 5th grade of two public schools in the 2017-2018 academic year in the same district, Dereli of Giresun province. The research has been based on action research which is the one of the qualitative research methods. Open-ended data pre-tests and final tests, student diaries and research observation form have been used as data collection tools. The obtained data have been analyzed with descriptive analysis. As a result of this research, it has been figured out that origami activities have contributed a positive effect to the academic success of students.
